Ms. Karen Henneberger, SES(Ret) Joins the Senior Advisory Board of BMC

Cleveland, OH May 17, 2023. Bartlett Maritime Corporation is pleased to announce that Ms. Karen Henneberger, SES(Ret) has joined the company’s Senior Advisory Board, effective immediately.

Ms. Henneberger, who also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Seven Rules Consulting LLC, recently retired from Naval Reactors, where she served as the Section Head responsible for new ship designs. Over the course of her distinguished career at Naval Reactors she was involved with multiple submarine and shipbuilding programs and the Naval Reactors prototype propulsion plants. Most notably, she led government-industry teams for the development of the groundbreaking GERALD R FORD Class aircraft carrier and COLUMBIA SSBN nuclear propulsion plants.

Ms. Henneberger earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry, with distinction, at Cornell University, where she participated in the NROTC Program. Later she attended The Darden School of Business at The University of Virginia, where she earned an MBA.

Commenting on Ms. Henneberger joining the Company’s Senior Advisory Board, President and Chief Operating Officer CAPT David McCall, USN(Ret) noted, “I have greatly enjoyed working with Karen over the years, and look forward to her wise advice and counsel as we move to the execution phase of our programs.”

CAPT Edward L. Bartlett, Jr., Chief Executive Officer, added, “Ms. Henneberger is well known and greatly respected throughout the Naval Nuclear Power and overall Navy customer communities. With her vast experience and deep customer insight, we look forward to her contributions in assisting us to best serve the needs of the submarine industrial base on both the maintenance & sustainment and shipbuilding support sides of the business. We are pleased that she has agreed to join our company and welcome her to our team.”

Ms. Henneberger joins ADM Frank “Skip” Bowman, USN(Ret), VADM William Merz, USN(Ret), Mr. John W. (Bill) Shirley, SES(Ret), Mr. Richard Burkhart, Mr. Bob Hogue, and Mr. Renold Thompson, Jr. on the Bartlett Maritime Corporation Senior Advisory Board. Each Senior Advisory Board member brings unique capabilities and perspectives to the company, providing key senior counsel, strategic and tactical advice to company operating executives. This Senior Advisory Board input also is used by the company Board of Directors in setting company policy and direction.

The nation’s Submarine Industrial Base, which in the 1960’s consistently delivered a new submarine into service every 44 days while properly maintaining this rapidly growing fleet and as recently as the 1980’s delivered 5 new submarines into service per year while properly maintaining a Submarine Force of more than 100 submarines, is in the midst of a now-widely-acknowledged and well understood capacity and capability crisis. There are many reports from various agencies detailing this crisis, summarized at https://www.bartlettmaritime.com/. In response, Bartlett Maritime Corporation is preparing to execute its immediately actionable, cost-effective public-private-partnership proposal – The Bartlett Maritime Plan™ – to add the required capacity and capability to the Submarine Industrial Base. The company’s team includes an exceptionally well-qualified team of senior leaders in both Naval shipbuilding & maintenance and in various key aspects of commercial industry on both the company’s Senior Advisory Board and the company’s senior operating staff.
